FLORES TOUR (OVERLAND PACKAGE)
7 Days / 6 Nights
DAY 01. LABUAN BAJO – ARRIVAL (L,D)
On arrival at the Airport of Labuan Bajo, our guide will meet you and arrange transfer to Hotel ‘New Bao Beach’ for accommodation. In the afternoon a half-day tour around Labuan Bajo.
DAY 02. LABUANBAJO – RUTENG (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel. Afterwards we visit the distinct tribes of Flores Island (Mangarai, Bajawa, Lio, Sikka etc.). Starting in Ruteng - a cool and small town and the capital city of Manggarai Regency - where their major tribe dwells. Along the way, we’ll stop at Lembor and Cancar where you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of rice fields situated on the lush hills. On arrival direct check-in at Hotel Dahlia. After check in we proceed to Ruteng Puu - Manggarainese traditional village to see their unique shaped houses and mingle with the local people. Return to hotel.
DAY 03. RUTENG – BAJAWA (B,L,D)
After breakfast we drive to the East to Bajawa - the capital city of Ngada Regency (home of Ngada and Nagekeo tribes). A break at "Ranamese" Lake, and a snapshot at the magnificent peak of Mt. Inerie – a still active volcano. Lunch we enjoy in Aimere. Once in Bajawa, a short drive of 2 km to Boloji where we will attend a dance performance of the Bajawanese, followed by "Suling", a Bamboo flute concert. Return to Hotel Kembang for dinner and accomodation.
DAY 04. BAJAWA (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel. Explore traditional village of Bajawa tribes. Then on to Bena - a megalithic village where people preserve their ancestral spirits in their "Ngadhu" and "Bhaga" . Ngadu and Bhaga are conical thatched roof huts symbolizing their Male and Female spirits. Along the way we stop at the slope of Inerie, a still active volcano. Return to Bajawa for Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we continue north to the Soa sub district to see the traditional villages Masu, Seso and Mude. On the way back to our hotel we pass Mengeruda, a natural hot spring where we have some time at leisure.
DAY 05. BAJAWA – DETUSOKO (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel. In the morning a 5 hours scenic drive through beautiful valleys to Detusoko Stops will be made at Wogo, another traditional Bajawanese village and Boawae, the village of Nagekeo tribes, to observe their tradition and culture. Onwards to Ende for a lunch break at a local restaurant, After lunch to Onekore village, the center of "Ikat" hand-weaving in the typical Endenese style. Proceed to Detusoko. Accommodation and meals at Missionary GuestHouses – St. Fransiscus.
DAY 06. DETUSOKO - KELIMUTU - MAUMERE (B,L,D)
After an early morning breakfast at 5.30 AM we drive up to Kelimutu volcano to see the three colored lakes. After a 1,5 km walk to the ridge we ascend the 127 steps to the top for the spectaculair view over Kelimutu's green, blue and black lakes. Next we descend to the Moni village with the beautiful hand woven clothes and fabrics, then visit Kowanara village, famous for its traditional Lionese houses. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Paga Beach. Proceed to Maumere with several stops depending on local events. Accommodation and meals at Flores SAO Resort.
DAY 07. MAUMERE – OUT (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the Airport for departure to your next destination.
